We have updated our registry requirements to maintain compliance in promotion and advertising of vaping products in private publications. When you subscribe to our online magazine(Canadian Vapor Magazine), we now collect (as of March 1, 2019) personal and/or business information such as your (required fields) first & last name, email address, date of birth, and selection of: consumer, retailer, wholesaler, or manufacturer – using Mailchimp email marketing service. Business information such as (optional) business name, address, phone number, and website may also be included for placement on our B2B platforms. If business information is included in any subscription, a “Vapor-Map” placement on our homepage is created from this information. We may use this information to verify subscriptions and rectify subscription concerns to Canadian Vapor Magazine. You may unsubscribe at any time, and we do not collect or keep any database information on file. This change is to fully verify both legal age of registrants, and to classify business registrants away from consumer registrants, so as to better direct updates and product campaigns. This will also allow us to eliminate front-of-site entrance (age verify/email prompts) requirements in 2020, should regulation permit lifting these security measures.

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so, If concerns are raised of (your) opt-in status, or if you violate our Terms of Service.

Our database is extensive and it’s maintenance is paramount. Double-opt is no longer required, as information provided is confirmation-resource enough to verify any registration. We maintain 2 lists for the time being, while we implement these new subscription requirements. This is to allow former subscribers to update their information without being removed from the database completely without notice.

LIST 1 (must re-register – total purge on Dec. 31, 2019) is the pool of ALL subscribers to date that have NOT provided the required information (as of March 1, 2019), or have not interacted with any email campaigns as of March 1, 2019. This list is emailed solely a “Re-register” form for re-subscription and maintaining email marketing compliance.

LIST 2 (Registry Update 2019) is compiled of anyone (1)having fully provided the required (personal and/or business) information and (2) anyone who has interacted with our email campaigns (open or click) beginning March 1, 2019. If you continue to receive promotional emails, this is indicative of having interacted with our campaigns (as of March 1, 2019) or fully re-registered previously, and thus have been moved from list 1 to list 2.

BE ADVISED: List 2 registrants who have not provided the required information will be prompted to fully re-register. Failure to do so WILL result in your removal of subscription information from our database and any further marketing campaigns as of December 31, 2019. If you have opted to unsubscribe and would like your business removed from our Vapor-Map, please contact us directly through our contact form.

LIST (DATABASE) MAINTENANCE: Removal from our database will occur if:

(1) Any registrant directly unsubscribes from our database.

(2) Any registrant contacts us requesting removal from our database.

(3) Any former registrant (prior to March 1, 2019) fails to fully update their Database information before Dec. 31, 2019.

(4) Any registrant does not interact with any email marketing campaigns (March 1-Dec. 31. 2019).

(5) Any libel/slander directed at Canadian Vapor Magazine regarding it’s content, staff, or clientele is discovered on part of a registrant. (trolling)

(6) Any registrant misuses or misrepresents Canadian Vapor Magazine’s website, content, client media, or staff.
